Startup@Berkeley Law

Launched in 2015 with the support of a generous gift from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Startup@BerkeleyLaw is a collaboration between the Berkeley Center for Law and Business (BCLB) and the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.

Startup@BerkeleyLaw delivers dynamic programming for law students, entrepreneurs, and investors on current and emerging issues facing early-stage companies – delivering cutting-edge legal training for aspiring startup lawyers while enabling entrepreneurs at Berkeley and beyond.

BBHI tenant companies gain access to the unique curriculum of FORM+FUND, a course taught by Startup@Berkeley Law.

FORM+FUND teaches the core, legal, financial, and organizational aspects of starting and scaling a new business. Most sessions are held virtually on Tuesday evenings. Workshop capacity is extremely limited and priority is given to entrepreneurs who enroll in the full series as a FORM+FUND Fellow. These entrepreneurs will also be awarded a Form+Fund Fellowship certificate. Sessions include:

Startup Law 101 & 102;
Intellectual Property Strategy;
HR and Employment 101;
Venture Terms and Processes;
Cap Table Modeling;
Legal Due Diligence;
Fundraising Strategy; and more!

FORM+FUND is open to Berkeley-affiliated (students, staff, faculty, alumni) entrepreneurs with an early-stage startup. It will also include access to attorney supported office hours and opportunities to network with other innovative founders.
